South Hykeham is a village and former civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, about 3 miles (4.8 km) south west of the city of Lincoln on the A16. Since 1931, South Hykeham has formed part of the civil parish of Aubourn Haddington and South Hykeham. [1]
South Hykeham was mentioned in Domesday Book of 1086 when it was described as "Hichum" and consisted of 14 households and two fisheries.[2]
The grade II* listed parish church is dedicated to Saint Michael and dates from the 13th century, although it was restored and added to by M Drury and Martimer in 1859.[3]
South Hykeham Community Primary school was built in 1869 as a National school.[4]
